new rim shape
- Wider Front Wheel - Increases tire volume and support, allowing for lower tire pressure and more traction
- Narrower Rear Wheel - Reduces tire volume and support for more forgiveness and improved rolling resistance
external spoke nipples
All M Series rims feature ENVE's patented Molded Spoke Hole technology (US Patent # 8,313,155 B2) with external locking nipples. Additionally, each nipple is equipped with a nyloc insert to keep spokes tensioned and wheels true.
Rim Depth and sidewalls
- Depth - Shallow 20mm depth for optimal balance of compliance, weight savings, and reliability
- Sidewalls - The concavity of the sidewalls aids in striking a balance between durability and compliance
rim leading edge
- Front - leading edge is narrower to save weight, so that more material can be deployed to the rear wheel where damage is more likely to occur
- Rear - leading edge is wider to enhance pinch-flat protection and impact toughness
