What's included with an ENVE seatpost:
- 1 seapost assembled with standard rail wedges (standard wedges are designed for metal railed saddles, note 7mm rails on the side of the wedge, have a torque spec of 8-12nm, and use a 5mm bolt)
- 1 set of oversized wedges with appropriate bolt (oversized wedge kits should be used with carbon railed saddle, note 7-10mm rails on the side of the wedge, have a torque spec of 8nm, and use a 4mm bolt)
Tools Needed
- 5mm allen wrench (standard rail wedge kit)
- 4mm allen wrench (oversized rail wedge kit)
- Torque wrench
- Grease
Installation- Saddle with Standard Rails
- Loosen the bolt with a 5mm allen wrench and remove the standard rail wedges
- Lightly grease the threads for the wedge bolt
- Lightly grease the sliding edge of the wedge
- Install the bolt into the appropriate wedge half
- Remove the lower cradle of the seatpost clamp
- Slide the saddle on to the seatpost
- Reinstall the lower cradle
- Attach the second half of the wedge
- Tighten to a torque spec of 8-12nm
Tech Note: Do not ever grease the rounded side of the wedge! It can cause the saddle to slip under load.
Installation- Saddle with Oversized Rails
- Loosen the bolt with a 5mm allen wrench and remove the standard rail wedges and set aside
- Lightly grease the threads for the oversized wedge bolt
- Lightly grease the sliding edge of the wedge
- Install the bolt into the appropriate wedge half
- Remove the upper and lower cradle of the seatpost clamp
- Slide the saddle on to the seatpost
- Reinstall the upper cradle
- Reinstall the lower cradle
- Attach the second half of the wedge
- Tighten to a torque spec of 8nm
Tech Note: A light tap from a rubber mallet may be necessary in order to seat the lower wedge over the saddle rails.
